Rodrigo Flores-Roux’s unreleased scents bloom at Stéle
The Givaudan Florstalgia Exhibit runs from May 12-18

Coming to you with a very rare Tuesday letter to let you know about the amazing exhibit at
right now. This year, my work trips have unexpectedly aligned perfectly with some really stellar events at Stéle, and this week is no exception. The Givaudan Florstalgia Exhibit is running from May 12–18 at Stéle’s Nolita location. And I was lucky enough to get a look and smell at the stunning interactive display yesterday. In it, you’ll be able to smell seven never-before-released fragrances created especially for this exhibit by master perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux. Even if you don’t know his name, you know his fragrances. Flores-Roux is the nose behind some of the most iconic perfumes, including Clinque Happy, Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino, the entire Arquiste line, and all of the Xinú scents, to name a few.

If you’re a floral lover, don’t miss this exhibit. Rodrigo Flores-Roux has reimagined seven iconic floral notes—rose, jasmine, ylang ylang, iris, violet, tuberose, and carnation—through a modern lens. As much as I adore rose, jasmine, and tuberose, it was the ylang ylang that swept me away. I sprayed a bit on my hand and found myself returning to it all night. I wish it were available for purchase. But that’s part of what makes this exhibit so special, these fragrances were created in limited quantities exclusively for this experience, and they’re not for sale. I hope they change their minds someday. If that ylang ylang ever becomes available, I’ll be first in line.

My favorite part of the experience, after the gorgeous smells, is the interactive element where you can scan a bar code and have a mini Flores-Roux walk you through every scent in the collection. The fantastic Stéle staff will also guide you through every scent, telling you about each floral note that inspired the creation and what the final fragrance consists of.
The exhibit will be on display all week, featuring two special events: one on Thursday with my favorite perfume expert, Emma Vernon, and a masterclass with Flores-Roux on Sunday. If you're in NY, don’t miss this special installation!

I am currently down with a major case of city envy. Already have dreams to visit this store, but this event sounds so very cool, definitely feeling I’m missing out.
This looks amazing! Can’t wait to check it out this weekend. I really hope they stream or record Thursday’s event 🙏🏼
