There were many flights and many good new smells.

In March, I was on the road more than I was home. I spent two weeks in New York and a week in LA. After a freezing trip to NY in February, it felt so good to be back just as spring started to show its face. I love New York in the spring and early summer before the humidity creeps in.

I made many visits to Stéle this month and squeezed in a fun trip to ZGO in San Francisco at the end of the month, which means I smelled some incredible things and definitely added more to my collection than I needed to.

The highlight? I finally bought a bottle that had been sitting on my wish list for a while—and I don’t regret it. It’s easily in my current top five, and I don’t see it budging anytime soon. I also discovered a few new lines I hadn’t really explored before, and somehow, I only repeat-wore two perfumes all month.

That said, I can feel a no-buy month creeping up on me. There’s too much in my collection that I’m not reaching for enough. But April is my birthday month… so maybe May?

March 1 - OroNardo by Xinu - I have waxed poetic about this gorgeous white floral before. Chloe picked up a travel size for me when she was in Mexico City last month. I guess I will never stop collecting white florals, I can’t help myself. Full review of Xinu here.

March 2 - Hotel Cotton by Villa Erbatium - lives up to its name. Clean but beyond your basic laundry clean. There are some spring flowers in here, fluffy clouds, and bluebells; this is sky blue and soft with some subtle woods and vanilla that hang around for the dry down, which is also heavy on the powder. I’m not usually a clean scent girl, but I’m into Hotel Cotton, it has a lot of depth, and I love the powdery place it ends up.

March 3 - Pas de Chat by Odette - Don’t even get me started on how much I love almost every single Odette fragrance. They’re expertly crafted, with a strong point of view and a nice running theme in the line. I am not big on overly sweet gourmands and Odette just hits the perfect balance for me. Pas de Chat is lovely.

March 4 - Leather by Commodity - I picked this one up when I was in NY in February. It was my favorite thing I smelled in the entire Commodity store. This is such an easy leather to me, perfect for someone who wants to dip their toes into leather but doesn’t want something too deep and dark. Spicy and woody and just slightly animalic.

March 5 - Grande Battement by Odette - I may be ruining the post I have coming on Odette by saying this, but Grande Battement is my favorite in the Odette line. It is so perfectly balanced and beautiful. This is a deep, rich amber with just a little spice, the perfect amount of sweetness, and some patchouli to round it out. I love this and would love a full bottle in my collection at some point.
