Every perfume I wore in January & the one I’m buying asap
It was a month of Mondays but these frags made it better

Welcome to a new monthly feature! This year, I’m keeping track of the scents I wear every day. I’ll share that list here at the end of every month with some brief thoughts on each fragrance. The full list will be for paying subscribers only. I am finding myself spending more and more time on posts for Dry Down, and I am so thankful for the people who support this work with their hard-earned money. I want to deliver quality content to all of you, but paying subscribers deserve a little something extra once in a while. If you upgrade, you’ll also get a survey to fill out and three recommendations from me based on your answers, AND I send paying subscribers fun stuff in the mail when I make swag. I actually have 10 scent strip books left for new paying subscribers, so if you upgrade, fill out this form, and you’ll get one (while supplies last!) along with some stickers.
In January, I wore 25 different fragrances. There was one scent I wore 6 times and could have worn every day of the month. There was another one that smelled so much like sex it embarrassed me. One scent I sprayed on as a sample and instantly fell in love with. That may be the first bottle I buy in February. I am proud of myself for sticking to my resolution of no new bottles this month, with one very justified exception.
Free subscribers will be able to read the first week, but you’ll have to upgrade to paid to get my takes on what I wore the rest of the month, including a full bottle I’m not loving, and I may offer as a giveaway to my paying subscribers. Enjoy, let me know if you like this, and thanks for being a subscriber and supporting my work and perfume addiction.
January 1 - Pony Boy by Jorum Studio - This is such a joyful frag, I love the explosion of juicy fruits. It’s jammy and sparkly and a little woody. From my notes on this day: “I fucking love this one, what a total fucking delight.”
January 2 - Parisian Musc by Premiere Matiere - I finally bought a full bottle after several samples. This is heavenly, sweet musk that just wears so nicely throughout the day. It’s what I reach for when I can’t think too much about which fragrance to wear. It kind of goes with any mood, tbh.
January 3 - Prolégomènes by Notes de bas de Paje - I have waxed poetic about this one plenty. My new favorite is an all-time top 5, that I would take with me on a desert island. A woody, milky fig, the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. Bury me in this.
January 4 - Prolégomènes by Notes de bas de Paje
January 5 - Into the Oud by Astrophil & Stella - Another new favorite. This one is moody, sexy, boozy, and a little dirty. It’s an oud you can wear to the office that people will compliment you on.
January 6 - Into the Oud by Astrophil & Stella and La Bague D’o by Jouissance
The best days are days I remember to put on perfume before bed. As you can see, those days are rare. La Bague D’o may be a new favorite bedtime scent. A beautiful powdery rose that gets a little dirty and sexy.
January 7 - Float by Gabar - I met Phway, one of the founders of Gabar, and she gave me a discovery set when she was visiting SF. I’ll be sharing more about her and Gabar soon! Float is one of my favorite scents from Gabar, a big white floral with a really lovely musky dry down. You know I am such a sucker for white florals. This one is top-notch and reminds me a little of Nostalgia by Our Side, which I own and love. I could definitely see having both of these in my collection. They’re different enough, and honestly, there will always be room for more white florals in my collection.
